WEEK 6: ART APPRECIATION PRESENTATION (DUE IN WEEK 7)
- Due Aug 16 by 1:59am
- Points None
This week, you will begin working on the Art Appreciation Presentation that will be due next week. The major requirements are as follows.
- It must be a high-quality, visually appealing presentation approximately 8–10 minutes in length, accompanied by audio or audiovisual narration.
- Evidence of source use from the annotated bibliography is shown in both the slides themselves, including a references slide, and in the narration. In other words, you must demonstrate how the sources you annotated in Week 5 have informed the ideas you have expressed in the presentation. All sources listed in the references must be cited at some point in the presentation.
A recommended organizational structure for the presentation is as follows.
- Title, student name, class, date
- Presentation overview (main points to be covered, thesis)
- Body of presentation consisting of four to five visually appealing slides focusing in on those main ideas and supporting the thesis
- Conclusion
- References
Tips for Great-Looking Slides
- Let the images of the artwork you are focusing on take center stage.
- Use short snippets of text, as brief as a few words, to refer to ideas you have learned from your research, and expound upon those ideas in your narration. When it comes to text on slides, less is more!
- Check out this week’s Assignment Connection for examples of how to use and cite sources in a presentation.
Here is how you will be graded.
