In Assignments 10, you will have the opportunity to review a Web site. There are a number of design elements that should be considered to create a Web site that is attractive and easy for visitors to use and contributes to the bottom line of the business.
Web pages are part of a business’ web site. Just as there are design considerations for web pages, there are design considerations for web sites that encourage usability by visitors. This discussion focuses on identifying characteristics of good web site design. Our focus is on the design of web sites as an effective means to communicate and carry out e-commerce.
Web Site Evaluation Criteria
- Research the web/literature for a set of criteria for evaluating Web sites. Based on your research, prepare a list of criteria that you will use to evaluate web sites.
- Identify two web sites – one that you think illustrates good web site design and one that illustrates poor web site design. Post these two sites to the Discussion Area. Be sure to identify the “good site” and the “bad site.” Also post your criteria list and references as well.
Only submit web sites from legitimate business, government, or non-profit organizations. Be sure that the web sites you select contain appropriate, non-offensive content. I reserve the right to remove any posting containing web sites that do not adhere to this policy.
