Youwill create a parent newsletter in which you explain that the children in your classroom will belearning about a particular poet to help them gain a greater appreciation of poetry.Instructions:Create a letter that you might write to parents to inform them that you will be teaching theirchildren about the poetry of a particular childrens poet. Include each of the following:1. A short biography of the poet, his/her website (if available)2. The types of poems the poet writes3. A poem or an excerpt from of the poets works4. A summary of one of the poets poems5. A critique of the poem (tell what you like about the poem)6. A description of three ways that you will incorporate this poets work into your classroom7. An explanation of how students will benefit from studying this poets work.8. Provide two suggested activities that parents can do to help extend the lesson.9.
