You will complete a 5-6 page research paper (individually or in a group of up to 4) and make an argument in favor of an alternative to incarceration or a critique of some aspect of corrections. You will conduct research (at least three sources) on your topic. The format is double-spaced, size-12 font, Times New Roman and include Header with page numbers. Your paper must include:

3. Body of Work (5-6 pages) Intro

i. State the purpose of the research paper within the first paragraph

ii. What motivated this research?

History

iii. Go through a timeline of your topic and the history behind it

Statement

iv. State your case for your alternative/ criticism needs to be considered, this includes (but is not limited to):

1. Examples

2. Statistics

3. Testimonials

4. Court Hearings

5. Negative Outcomes

b. Proposed Solution/Alternative

i. Use statistics and facts, should be around one page minimum

c. Conclusion

i. In one final paragraph, close out your whole argument. Reiterate the issue at hand and how the proposed solution/alternative can improve things.
