Step 1: Needs Assessment
Complete a needs assessment of your organization regarding the following topics:
- What is the organizations level of technical complexity? Provide examples to support your claims.
- Which types of technology does the organization use? Be specific and comprehensive.
- To what extent does your organizations structure seem to fit with the characteristics of the organizations technology? Explain.
- Do you think your organization is operating its technology effectively? Why or why not?
Step 2: Plan of Action
Create a Plan of Action related to addressing the topic of technology at your organization and improving the state of affairs in your organization with regards to the use of technology. Based on your needs assessment, choose one area of need and explain a possible plan of action that you would initiate if you were one of the top-level decision makers at your organization. Describe your plan by addressing who, what, when, where, and how. Provide detailed, concrete examples to illustrate your plan. Be sure to connect your plan to the theories covered in this course to identify ways in which the organization could improve its technical efficiency, innovativeness, or ability to respond to customers.
