This individual project is to help the student improve their IT capabilities in the area of business intelligence. The student will be exposed to a popular tool called Tableau that allows them to analyze and visualize data in an effective manner.
First, to download the application, go to the Tableau website, www.tableau.com (Links to an external site.). Students can get a free 1-year license (go to https://www.tableau.com/academic/students (Links to an external site.)).
Second, you need to find a data set you would be interested in for your project. Go to the Tableau public website, http://public.tableau.com (Links to an external site.). In the website, click on ‘RESOURCES‘ page on the top of the homepage, then go to ‘Sample Data‘ tab). Once you find a data set of your choice, you review and analyze the data. Then, you document your findings and submit your report with appropriate Tableau charts as needed.
