Reading Response Journal: As you read Death of a Salesman, keep a reading response journal. All entries need to be typed. Each entry should be at least one good paragraph in length. The play is divided into two acts. Write four (4) entries per act=8 entries altogether. Use each kind of response (analytical or passage) twice per act. (Two ‘A’ and Two ‘B’ per act) – 40 points (Reading Comprehension)
A. Write an analytical response that discusses theme, irony, foreshadowing, symbols, character development,
writing style, recurring events, etc. (No, not all of them at once! Choose one or two per entry.) Think about what you are reading and analyze its significance, its effectiveness.
B. Find a meaningful quote or passage. Copy the passage and the page # and explain the importance/significance of the passage.
