SELF-REFLECTION EXIT ESSAY

Assignment:

This is a simple assignment that should be an easy 100 points (10%) towards your final grade. Conversely, if you dont do it, it will be 100 points off your final grade.

What I want you to do is use the questions listed below as a guide to write a reflection essay. You DO NOT have to answer all of the questions. I want you to read them and use them to help you compose in essay format (not just bulleted answers) your reflection. This is mostly a self-reflection, but there is also an element of evaluation of our course as a whole. This is mostly for your benefit, but it is also for my benefit to help me in future courses that I will teach.

I will NOT be grading these for quality nor quantity. I will be grading them for completion  all that I ask is that you are thoughtful in your responses. No word requirement. The only deductions will be if you do not turn it in by the due date (August 21 at 11:59pm PST), or if you do not give thoughtful responses.

Here are the questions for consideration:

What would you say, if you have a chance to speak to your friends, about this course/program?

What suggestions would you give other students on ways to get the most out this course/program?

How do you feel about yourself as a writer? What are your strengths as a writer?
What makes a person a good writer?

What are your weaknesses as a writer?

What was the one most useful or meaningful thing you learned in this course/program?

In what area did you improve the most? What improvement(s) did you make?

What one assignment for this course/program was your best work? What makes it your best work? What did you learn by creating it? What does it say about you as a writer?

Describe something major that youve learned about yourself in this course/program.

What was your favorite aspect of this course/program? Why?

What goals did you set for yourself in this course/program? How well did you accomplish them?

If you were to start this course/program over, what would you do differently next time?

If you could change any one of the assignments you did for this course/ program, which one would it be? What would you change about it?

What problems did you encounter in this course/program? How did you solve them?

Write one goal for next semester/year and tell how you plan to reach it.
