FORMAT: You will be asked to write a 5-paragraph essay (approximately 500 words, not including the references) on a specific topic

Every statement of fact must have an in-text citation to tell the reader where you learned or confirmed the information, and each citation must be included in a reference list in APA format.

Do not go significantly over 500 words, or you will start to lose marks on the quality of writing. This is meant to be a concise, to-the-point essay that demonstrates your learning this semester, and that demonstrates that you understand the relevance of everything that you choose to include.

Write a 500 word (+/- 10 %) essay on the following topic:
Imagine the world 100 years in the future (i.e., it is the year 2121). What has happened in terms of the environment, and why have those changes occurred? For example, if you state that the climate is about the same as it is today, tell me what we did specifically to stop further climate change; if you tell me that people need to use radar to see where they are going because the smog is so bad, tell me what we did or didn’t do that has allowed air pollution to get worse. Be sure to base your essay on facts learned in class, and to provide in-text citations and references for those facts. (i.e., this is not an invitation to write science fiction. You must have concrete, reasonable explanations for your predictions). Remember that the purpose of this essay is to demonstrate your understanding of what you have learned in this course.
