Creating an Information Pamphlet

A well-organized pamphlet that attracts the eye and contains simple to read and informative information that the mind can retain is beneficial when presenting at workshops or as a resource tool for parents.

Choose a childhood behavioral disorder that you would like to provide information on to a parent and provide the following information in a pamphlet:

·        Diagnosis

·        Definition of the diagnosis

·        Description of signs and symptoms

·        Medications used to treat the diagnosis.

·        One resource group or community agency that a parent could access for assistance. (Example – Center for Autism Supports/you must also include phone number and website)

·        One resource the parent could attend that would offer an alternative method of assistance (example – Healing Hooves Equine Therapy/you must also include phone number and website)

·        Description of deficits to child’s daily living and/or social skills that may be affected by this diagnosis.

·        One agency that provides family supports and include phone number and website (Must  be from     Canada Ottawa)

You will be graded on all content listed above being presented in quick and easy manners that stand out and would make a parent wish to take action steps to contacting the resources contained in your pamphlet. Marks will be lost for missing items. Some examples are conduct disorder or oppositional defiant disorder. There is other childhood behavioral diagnosis, please inform your instructor which you are choosing.
