31 Aug Self-Assessment Essay & Development Plan
Below are listed a series of questions designed to facilitate the process of integrating strategies and approaches you have studied throughout the semester. Each question need not be specifically addressed in your essay. Rather, your paper should layout an integrative plan carefully crafted to assist you in identifying those goals which are most important to you and a well thought-out blueprint for the actual achievement of your goals.
1. What would you most like to achieve, explore, experience, have, do, or be during the course of your lifetime? You might want to consider your thoughts on key life issues such as:
Personal Goals
Work Goals
Relationships
Life Purpose
Lifestyle
2. What are your most significant talents, strengths and skills? What do you most enjoy doing? What developmental challenges might you need to overcome in order to achieve your most desired goals? How extensive are your interpersonal skills? What are your key interpersonal strengths and challenges?
3. What are your most cherished three (3) to five (5) life goals? What leadership roles, if any, would you like to pursue? What goals are among your highest life priorities? Consider both short term [six (6) months to one (1) year] and longer range goals [one (1) to five (5) years]. How do you plan to achieve your goals? What resources do you have at your disposal? What additional resources do you need? How do you plan to muster the resources you require?
Your grade will be based largely on (1) how well you articulate your blueprint for goal achievement and (2) how well you integrate the material you have worked on throughout the semester into your essay.
