Methodology

  • Is the nature of the survey identified? (cross-sectional, etc.)
  • Are the population and its size mentioned? What is it?
  • Was the population stratified? If so, how?
  • How many people were chosen in the sample? On what basis was this sample chosen?
  • Was the study random, nonrandom?
  • What instrument was used in the survey? Who developed the survey? The scales (Likert?)
  • What are the content areas addressed in the survey? Construct/content validity
  • What procedure was used to pilot or field-test the survey?
  • What is the timeline for administering the survey?
  • What specific steps were taken in data analysis to do the following

Analyze returns

  • How did they check for response bias (how many surveys were sent and how many returned)
  • Check for the reliability of scales (Cronbachs alpha)
  • How were results interpreted? (Statistical evidence) What are the statistics used?
  • What are the Findings? 
  • What are the Limitations of the study?
