This assignment supports the following unit learning outcomes:
- Determine how socioeconomic status impacts health outcomes.
- Identify different cooperative actions aimed at global health issues.
- Identify the functions and policies of the different national health organizations.
For this assignment, you will create a digital and orally narrated (voice-over) presentation comparing two (2) different country’s health systems. Although it may be easier to compare the health system of the United States to another country, you are welcome to choose any two countries. You may wish to review various countries and the structure of their health systems by referencing The Commonwealth Fund’s (Links to an external site.) website.
At a minimum, you should include the following information for each country:
- Is this a universal or national health system (Yes or No)? How does this impact the access and quality of care within the country?
- Discuss how the system is organized (private, public, for-profit/not-for-profit) and how providers are paid.
- Review the major sources of health funding and financing for care and services.
- How is the country working to reduce and contain costs?
- What are some of the major innovations or reforms in place that have helped this health system?
- Include a Conclusion slide with your analysis of the strengths and weaknesses for each country’s health system.
This presentation can be in the form of a Prezi, PowerPoint, or Keynote. However, you must include yourself presenting your presentation orally. Your presentation should also:
- Include Title and Conclusion slides
- Approximately 10-15 slides in length
- Last approximately 5-10 minutes for the oral presentation component
- APA format for citations and references
