Give a mini-lesson (introduction, brief analysis, conclusion) of a K-pop music video of your choice. I chose

Research. (20 points) Your main source will be the course reading:
University of California Press, 2014. Chapter Two: Seoul Calling: The Age of K-Pop (PDF version pp. 1-17) on-line version, pp. 122-38 & The Aesthetics, Branding, and Character of K-Pop, (PDF pp. 18-28) on-line version, pp. 175-85.
As well, as two (2) additional sources of your choice: Wikipedia, trade magazines, music blogs, etc. to provide additional factual and contextual information on the music video, the performers, and the group. These sources should only be used to research the music video, the performers, and the group! Any information about K-Pop should be taken from John Lie’s chapter, please!

Introduction. (10 points) Introduce the music video: Who are the artists? Who are the producers? Where and when did it first premiere (year, platform, etc.)? . (Cite your additional research in )
Analysis. (48 points) Using the sections The Age of K-Pop and The Aesthetics, Branding, and Character of K-Popfrom John Lies book as your guide, discuss what makes your music video a good example of K-pop.
How does Korean pop music (as exemplified by the music video you’ve chosen for analysis) differ from other kinds of pop music (e.g. Japanese, North American, European, South American, or British, for instance) ? Consider a) aesthetics and character (ideas of beauty, musicality, choreography, formula, authenticity, etc.) and b) branding (subsidized culture industry, studio system, etc.)
