Must receive authorization of thematic unit plan before proceeding
You are preparing to teach a thematic unit on the importance of saving the environment. This unit will be used to teach language arts, math, science, and social studies and will cover a two-week period. You want the culminating project for this unit to involve the students’ content knowledge, reading skills, vocabulary knowledge, writing skills, and artistic abilities. Compose a message to caregivers about the following information, and request their participation in any part(s) of the project that would be useful.
- Title of the project
- Objectives that will be met by successfully completing the project (find these on the ODE website for content area standards and reading/writing standards) required resource
- Description of the project
- Explanation of choices that students can make in order to provide differentiation for struggling, gifted, and ELL students and for multiple intelligences/learning styles.
- Opportunities for caregivers’ involvement
- Experienced writers who have created a thematic unit, this unit must cover language arts, math, science, and social studies.
- Must be creative and engaging for fifth grade learners
