31 Aug INTERDISCIPLINARY PLAN OF STUDY
Complete a two-page statement of purpose, or intellectual journey, detailing what brought you to the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies program and what you hope to accomplish upon graduation. Your paper should include the following four sections: (I have provided some responses in bold to the questions below that needs to be answered that can help with this paper)
- Who are you? (i.e. upbringing, education, influential people, worldview, religious background, traits and skills, etc.) Grew up with just my mom and my stepdad, my father passed away when I was 4 years old. I have a younger sister which is 9 years younger than me. Early in school I always said I wanted to be an Accountant. I like math and working with numbers. My grandfather was a key figure in my life and helped me always. I grew up in a Baptist church. I have a AA in Accounting and a BS in Multidisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Accounting and Business.
- What led to your interest in a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies? I have been in a leadership role with DSS for the last 10 years , but also a role where I do finance/accounting. I have since switched careers. That is why I am focusing on interdisciplinary studies in Accounting and Executive Leadership
- Why you selected your Areas of Study and graduate electives? The areas of study are Accounting and Executive Leadership based on my work career for the last 10 years
- How do you plan to use your interdisciplinary degree and skills in the future? I am currently a Human Resources and Finance Coordinator at a school board where I am from. In this role, I believe this degree will help me further my career.
