The National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 required all states in America to raise their minimum purchase and public possession of alcohol age to 21. Yet, a person is considered an adult at the age of 18. At that point, they can get married, join the military, serve on a jury, work full time, and vote. Nevertheless, the drinking age in the country is still 21. Why do you think the legal drinking age comes three years after a person is considered an adult?
