According to the quote of philosopher George Santayana, "Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it." That phrase is not only popular and  catchy, but also true. 

Assignment:  In one paper, compare a historical topic or event that occurred from the  Pre-Columbian  Native American civilizations to 1876   to a topic or an event in our contemporary society.  The topic or event you choose should include the following:  economics, diplomacy, politics, cultural and social. This should be a  well developed paper also including the similarities and differences of each topic.

Example: Compare the impeachment of Andrew Johnson  in 1868 to the  Donald Trump impeachment in 2020.

Requirements and Instructions:  Your paper must be at least 800 words written in the MLA style or the Chicago style with at least four sources, excluding the textbook and Wikipedia, and a bibliography.
