For this project, please read the Results section of the article you selected. If the paper reports the results of several studies, focus on the first study only.
- How did the author(s) of the article summarize the data?
- If the Results section used tables or graphs, were these helpful for you to understand the information? Did the tables/graphs enhance the author(s) description of the data?
- For the hypotheses the author(s) studied:
- What statistical test did the author(s) use?
- Did the test verify the author(s) expectation? Please describe your understanding of the conclusion the test supported?
- Did the narrative of the Results section help you understand what the researchers discovered? What was clear, what was confusing?
When grading the essay, I will consider:
- Technical quality paper follows format guidelines and is free of errors in spelling and grammar.
- Clarity of expression the writing is direct and easy to understand.
- Depth of expression the answers do more than summarize the material as they provide a careful analysis of the material
