Most research claims that around 87% (but I have seen data saying 93%) of those aged 12 to 17 use the Internet regularly. Another statistic I have seen recently is that the average American teenager spends 6 hours per day on the internet. These numbers are before the pandemic. Amazingly, we also know that young people’s reading scores and on knowledge-based tests are falling. If the Internet leads us to more information, then shouldn’t we be doing better? Describe some of the ways that young people use all forms of communication technology today that may effect social interaction.
