09 Nov Debate topic: Should capital punishment (the death penalty) continue to be legal in Texas? – YES
For instance, if you are debating physician-assisted suicide, you would want to give a brief overview of some historical court cases in the United States (and Texas if applicable). In addition, you want to explain why this debate question is morally significant. Why does it matter to your group? Why does it matter to Texas? Why does it carry such moral significance? Feel free to draw upon various moral/political values (e.g. justice, mercy, security/safety, freedom, good, evil, etc.).
We want some context to help us understand the basics of the issues, but we don’t need a detailed history. Hit the highlights. Keep in mind the time limit for your group’s entire video.Slide 5: Pro or Con Argument #1 with at least one scholarly source
Slide 4: Introduce any specific examples of your debate question that you want to highlight.
For instance, let’s say there was a real life case of a doctor abusing his authority and killing or helping kill his patients that could serve as a key example for the rest of your group’s debate video. Try to find at least one real life example or case or event to help your group explain why you are either for or against your debate question.
