The topic of the paper will be an aviation accident that was a causal connection with a human performance issue or a human limitation. If a topic can be found in the class textbook it can be considered for the research paper. (example; fatigue, hypoxia, ergonomics, etc.). I expect you to explain why the specific human factor contributed to the accident. Remember 70% to 80% of all aviation accidents are caused by human factors. The research paper should cover these accidents. A thorough description of the human factor (lack of human performance or a human limitation) and how it can be related to the accident should be the main focus of the paper. Additional emphasis should be on the specific hazards presented by the human factor in and around the event and the proper actions an aviator should undertake to deal with those specific hazards. This is not a summary of the accident, but a comprehensive look at the human factors.
The student should make every effort to turn a textbook explanation of the phenomenon into a real-world report. The level of effort here will contribute to the overall grade. The student must access at least five sources for information that are academic, so no wiki.
Use the APA style for proper format.( abstract, main body, and reference page) This does mean citations must be used and bibliography must be present. Pictures and tables of content will not count towards the paper length.
