This module you began exploring medieval art, from early medieval art in the British Isles through the Ottonian period.
Based on the lectures and reading, Id like you to write a 3+ paragraph post in which you identify what you consider the most important trait for each of the three periods we looked atEarly Medieval (Hiberno-Saxon), Carolingian and Ottonianand then discuss and analyze one work from each period (3 works in total) in terms of how it reflects that trait.
Remember to use technical terms as needed.
Please clearly ID each of the three works by artist (if applicable), title, period and date.
**If you are choosing a work that was not in the lecture you must include an image.
Once you have posted, you must respond to two of your classmates posts in order to foster a lively discussion and further your understanding of the material.
- Your comments do not need to address all 3 works discussed by the original poster.
- The object(s) you do address should not be one(s) that you discussed in your own post.
These should be substantive responses (3+ sentences) that go beyond yes, I agree or I disagree to further the conversation. Ask questions (you could ask why they chose an example or a characteristic, or ask them to say more about a particular work) or you can add by sharing what youve learned or comparing their response to your own.
