Provide a comprehensive explanation of your findings, including the answer to the learning experience, as well as how this knowledge can benefit you in your service to your future clients, friends, and/or family.
1. Go to a local health club and take a stretching class. Evaluate the class. Would it be appropriate for older clients? Why or why not? Describe the class from start to finish. Highlight the areas that you felt were great, and the areas you felt could have been better. What suggestions would you give to make the class more accessible to older clients?
2. Create a stretching regimen for a client who has reported to have issues with balance. Discuss the rationale behind your choices and site examples of appropriate stretches.
3. Analyze the role of stretching as a part of an exercise program. Create a list of benefits that include physiological and practical reasons for maintaining or improving flexibility. Locate the resources available in your area for older adults and create a list of clubs or facilities that you would feel comfortable recommending to your older clients.
