Which kind of manager will you be?
As we get to the end of this class, and considering the experiences that we have shared, I think it is pertinent to ask “which kind of manager/leader/employee will you be?”
We have discussed some of the roles and functions of managers and leaders. We have discovered that processes and protocols can be used to the patient’s benefits but that the manager has to be actively involved in establishing these processes. We have also noted that the traits of great managers/leaders can be applied in at any level. It is not just enough to identify these different issues but also to see how the points we have identified can impact us and affect the way we handle our responsibilities. In our discussion in week five, we have discovered that there are some internal and external factors that can affect the operation of health care organizations and how managers and leaders should be involved in helping organizations strengthen responses to those factors. The roles of managers and leaders are important in helping organizations to meet their goals.
Once again, which kind of manager/team leader/employee do you aspire to be? As you continue in your academic pursuit, I hope you will continue to develop your areas of weaknesses and strengthen areas where you think you already have great abilities.
