This discussion focuses upon our theme for the week: World of Work: Organizational Design and Decision Making
Nelson and Quick (2019) define organizational design as the process of constructing and adjusting an organization’s structure to achieve its business strategy and goals. The goals are then separated into tasks which are the basis for jobs. Jobs are grouped into departments and those are linked to form organizational structures (p. 252). Identify and describe emerging organizational structures and those factors that could negatively impact them. What preventative processes would you employ to guard against them?
