This week we will explore the topic of learning cultures and valuing employees. I find both of these topics very interesting. Job satisfaction was the topic of my dissertation. As you likely understand, employee/job satisfaction is linked to employee turnover. That is, when employees are happy in their job, there are less likely to move and change jobs. The cost of employee turnover is very high for companies but turnover is more of the norm than it was in the past when people tended to stay in a job over a very long time.
The activities for this week include:
Discussion about employee value
Essay assignment about learning culture in which you are asked to research a company
Does your work, school, or organizational affiliate value its people? How can you tell? What impact does valuing people have on your work, school, or organizational affiliate? Give some concrete examples to support your answers.
