Write either an inquiry letter or a response letter using the guidelines for a readable style in Chapter 6 of Strategies for Technical Communication in the Workplace. It should be clear, concise, and fluent. If you choose to write a response letter, write in response to one of the examples on 196 or 197 from Strategies for Technical Communication in the Workplace. An inquiry letter may be on a subject of your choosing, but should follow the same structure as the examples.
