Strong leadership and effective collaboration are equally important in the strategic planning process. The ability to lead and collaborate with a team to create a shared mission, vision, and plan to guide decision making contributes to the success of a public health initiative.
The purpose of this assignment is to reflect on how group collaboration, with effective leadership, encourages members to be agents of change and make group decisions. In a 250-word reflection, discuss the following:
Think about the group collaboration experience in developing the overall action plan. Describe the level of success your team had in collaborating on the different aspects. Present an area in which the group collaboration was effective, and an area where the group could perform more effectively.
Discuss how well you perceive your own performance in applying principles of leadership to help guide and manage the project. Consider areas where you are proficient, as well as areas where you may be uncomfortable or still developing as a leader.
Consider the differences between your personal leadership style and traits and those of the other group members. Suggest two ideas for how you could help other group members develop their leadership skills.
Consider the leadership styles and traits of your teammates and discuss what you have learned about leadership from your teammates. Provide an example of one new leadership strategy or technique you can implement to improve your leadership skills.
