As we continue our read of Susan Jacoby’s The Age of American Unreason, you are asked to read three chapters(( 7,8 and 9) this week that focus on: (1) youth and celebrity culture: (2) religion / religious fundamentalism; and (3) “junk thought,” or pseudoscience.
For the DB this week, please pick one of these issues and relate it to our current social and political climate. How does what Jacoby describes show up in our political culture today? What has been the effect? What is the response to how this theme has influenced our social and political culture?
