Whether or not you're a criminal justice major, it is important that you know your rights as a citizen. Although I've been in law enforcement for over thirty years, I'll be the first to admit there are many officers who aren't fully versed in the law and your rights, and unfortunately, they will try to take advantage of you. If you know your rights, you can use them to ensure you are not put in a situation where you are disadvantaged. 

Below is a video of a First Amendment Audit. There are hundreds of them online on YouTube. The purpose of these audits to to ensure public accountability of public officials when it comes to First, Fourth, and Fifth Amendment protections. 

View the video, which is from Pooler, Ga. just outside of Savannah. Make note of what is said by both the auditor and the police and note things that are right and wrong.
