Christianity looks different from congregation to congregation and from region to region, even in the United States. There are differences of style, of practice, of tradition, and of theology.
For this assignment, select one of the following chapters from Kingdom Without Borders: The Untold Story of Global Christianity: Chapters 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10. Each of the profiled regions contains a variety of cultures.
In 1,000-1,250 words, describe the churches of the region in the selected chapter and include the following:
Describe Christianity as it exists within one of the “global south” cultures from the selected chapter. In your description, include details of the styles of worship, practices, traditions, and theologies.
Compare practices of the “global south” culture from the selected chapter with the practices in a church from the “global north” (this could be your home church). Include both similarities and differences.
Identify the differences that would make you uncomfortable and explain why.
Identify aspects of this culture’s practices that you value and would desire your church to emulate and explain why.
Use three to four scholarly resources to support your descriptions and explanations.
Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
