I found an interesting article that summarizes what ethical leadership is, the importance of being ethical, and how to become an ethical leader. What is interesting the author of the article says that being an ethical leader is more than just having strong values. It is more like how you demonstrate the values through your actions in your workplace and personal life as well. It is a difference of being a boss and being a leader. Boss orders what to do and manages but leader guides and inspires. That's why ethical leaders are involved in developing a corporate code of conduct and shows employees how to apply it in their day to day job responsibilities. The article points out that as far as ethical leadership is concerned actions matter more than words. Also, ethical leader provides appropriate training and promotes good communication. Remaining transparent in all business dealings is very important to build a positive culture and improve brand image.
