Research Topic

The role of Media in how individuals process information cannot be over-emphasized, shared information is being influenced by the author in several ways and this can lead to biases. This bias in Media is practiced by the reporting of events and stories visa vise how it is being recorded. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: This is different that what you discussed previously. How would the *role* of media affect how someone processes info? Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: State your topic very clearly. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: This is not clear – who is the author? What are you attempting to say?

Media bias research is meant for the exploration of how psychological construct is impacted and is best put by a qualitative research approach. The use of a qualitative research approach creates room for more information to be collected and a broader picture of people or a group of people’s experiences regarding the research in question. Data that is collected from this research will be used for the further creation of awareness towards the pollution not represented and for the reduction of negative impact on the affected communities (Murrar, 2019). A methodological approach is being used for the extraction of people’s experiences via surveys, observations, and interviews. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: What psychological construct? If you are looking at impact of anything, it is a quant study. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: What do you mean by "best put by a qualitative approach?" You might attend a few of the writing seminars – I know you want to develop a scholarly writing style. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: What does pollution have to do with media? Why is your topic an appropriate one for qual – why would you choose not to use quant?

Topic Background

The proposal for this research will attempt to take a look at the changes and responses in Media biases regarding how journals or authors tilt towards the production of information, there is little research that shows the processes of how journalists or authors carry out a task on various media platforms.

This Media bias research will be based on how information about politics for instance is being divulged on the media platforms (Pietrantonio & Llamas, 2020) alongside those populations faced by prejudice (Bowaman & West, 2018) (Bilali & Staub, 2017). To better understand the thought process of individuals producing information that is being shared through the media, there has been a little study reporting how beneficial it is to groups and the personal perspectives of authors or journalists working in the production of media content.

Topic Rationale

The rationale behind researching Media bias is to develop an understanding of the thought process of people producing information on media platforms for the general public. There is also a report on how journalists and authors think and tend towards the selection of subjects and events concerning media bias. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: Where is your supporting evidence?

A Research Question for Each of the Five Methodological Approaches

Questions regarding the 5 Methodological approaches can be found below:

· Case Study: What kind of pattern is being employed by media stations in the navigation of inclusive behavioral exposure related to the concepts of prejudice? This approach is meant to investigate the precise and personal of a group of people or an individual. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: Pattern of what? Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: A case study is bounded by some event or person. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: You might have something here but I do not understand what you propose to study.

· Ethnography: What is the conceptualization of authors and journalists regarding media bias in the shaping of regular practices? This approach is specifically meant for the exploration of people’s culture and perception as related to subject matters i.e. this research samples the population of journalists, authors, and their procedure in the conclusion of regular views that is being presented by the media. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: Ethno is about what it's like to be a group of journalists. This does not quite capture it.

· Grounded theory: How do the journalists and authors react towards marriages between different races as against the daily perception of those with a mind of prejudice? This is approach is for the development of new theories from the collected data to be used for induced reasoning. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: What does interracial marriage have to do with media bias, which is when media have an obvious position that is not equitable? GT is about processes, but there is no process here.

· Generic qualitative inquiry: What are your thoughts on the reduction of media bias as a news journalist or fresh author? This approach is aimed at having the orientation of the specific point of view, processes, or pattern and the description of people’s experiences. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: This is unclear – what is the reduction of media bias?

· Phenomenology: What are the roles of journalist stereotypes in the presentation of media stories? This approach is aimed at taking a careful look at the experiences of a group of people or an individual. Comment by Saurage-Altenloh, Susan: How can a journalist talk about journalist stereotypes? Phenomenology is about the "lived experience" and nothing else.

How Each Methodological Approach Aligns With a Research Question

The various 5 methodological approaches have an alignment in their characteristics as it relates to the research questions which make inquiries on data collection regarding a request from the various methodological approaches, they all provide give multiple directions to the insight of how data is collected to better match a research title.

It also gives an insight into the perception of authors and journalists regarding their view of cognitive processes in the selection of information for public consumption. Various aspect of Psychological and scientific idea is being added or fine-tuned as a result of this research.
