25 Jul Democratic Political Structure Reflection
Responses must be a minimum of 150 words and include the word count below your response. (Type your response in Microsoft Word so you can see the word count, include your word count below your response when you copy your response into the discussion.)
Here’s the prompt:
- The U.S. political system is structured, at least in terms of “ideal culture”, as a democracy. How important is it to you to retain a democratic political structure, flawed though our democracy might be?
- In what ways have you in the past or do you currently participate in the democratic process?
- Look at “How Can Citizens Participate?” from We the People: The Citizen & the Constitution, second edition (1998), especially the “Ways citizens can participate” section. (If the previous link is not working, you can use the list of ways to participate found at this link: https://www.living-democracy.com/textbooks/volume-6/chapter-7/exercise-8/. ) Are there ways you would like to participate that you do not already do?
- Is there anything going on in the world right now about which you would like to contact your elected officials
