Melody, Harmony, Form, and Texture are the four elements of music thoroughly described in Module 2. In your own words, define each of these elements and provide a brief outline or description of some of the components/terms used in each element.
2. In your own words, please describe a cadence in music. What is it, how is it used, etc. Please write a minimum of one, complete paragraph.
- If possible, please describe a specific example of one or more of the cadences used in a common hymn or childhood tune that you are familiar with.
3. After you review the material on Musical Texture, listen to one of your favorite songs and identify some of the textures used in the song. How did you determine these were the textures (refer to the definitions in the module) and how did the texture impact the overall sound or “feel” of the music in your opinion.
