1. Why do you think that despite “our” efforts, oral disease continues to be a major public health burden?
2. Picture yourself as a working dental hygienist. What types of oral health problems do you imagine addressing with your patients? Have you considered that preventive education goes beyond brushing and flossing and may address deeper issues such as addiction? What types of alternative work settings have you considered, if any?
