1) We are all too familiar with the term Standardized Testing. Whether you are a teacher, preparing your students for these tests; a parent, hoping and praying that your child achieves a certain score on the test; or someone who recalls taking these grueling standardized tests yourself, we are all familiar with the high stakes and over-emphasis placed on these tests in today’s public school systems. So what do you think about these tests? Are they cause for concern when it comes to the future capability of our students to think critically, collaborate with peers and engage in creative forms of assessment to show their abilities? Or do you feel these standardized tests show true deficits in students that we may not have been able to identify with regular classroom assessments?
