1) Review pages 295-299 in the text about performance assessments and product assessments. For this assignment, there will be three parts. You will be:

  • Designing a performance or product assessment for your students
  • Designing a rating tool in the form of a:
    • Rubric
    • Rating Scale
    • Checklist
    • Anecdotal Record
    • Participation Chart
  • Deciding how you will involve one of the following groups in this project (this may be a small part like support, or a large part like participation):
    • Colleagues, administration, parents or other classes of different ages/abilities

2) Part 1 of this assignment:

  • What type of assessment you are creating (product or performance)?
  • A brief description (3-5) sentence of the project or performance based assessment and how it will be implemented with the students

3) Part 2 of this assignment:

  • Identify and CREATE the rating tool you will use to measure the assessment. This should be in the form of:
    • Rubric
    • Rating Scale
    • Checklist
    • Anecdotal Record
    • Participation Chart

4) Part 3 of this assignment:

  • Write a letter to parents, colleagues, administration explaining their role in this assessment
