Unit 4 Current Event Abstract Discussion
Post for discussion a summary of a current event topic that relates to this week’s assigned chapter readings (Peng, 2022, ch. 12-14). Your current event topic can come from any credible news source (ex: Wall Street Journal, The Economist, New York Times, Bloomberg News, CNN, CSPAN, broadcast news, etc.), but your chosen current event topic must be in the news in the last seven days AND relevant to what you are reading this week. Do NOT use an article from a peer-reviewed journal as your “current event,” even if published within the last year (although you may cite such an article in your abstract to provide further context for the current event topic.) You must then respond to at least two of your peers’ summary/abstract posts, proceeding just as you would in any discussion forum.
Summary/Abstract post must include the following:
Where you encountered the current event topic.
How the current event relates to the readings for the week, and applying the readings to the current event.
A proper APA-formatted citations of both the source of the current event topic as well as the Peng textbook. (When citing the textbook, learners are to include page numbers, where applicable.)
See the Current Event Abstract Discussion instructions in Unit 2 Assigned Reading & Preparation Activities for more details.
