#2) Explain the several types of evidence scientists have found for evolution and put them into an explanation that is understandable by a non-scientist but not “dumbed down” to the point of losing accuracy. (about 1 page)
#3) Distinguish between the use of “theory” in everyday language (an educated guess) and the use of the term Theory in science. What is necessary for something to be elevated to the status of Scientific Theory?
#4) What is a gene? What is an allele? What is the ultimate source of genetic variation? Once variation exists in the genes of an organism, what factors can add to the genetic variation in that species?
#5) Explain the differences between Natural Selection, Genetic Drift, and Gene Flow ( a few sentences explaining each mechanism).
#6) Distinguish between directional selection, disruptive selection, and stabilizing selection. What is sexual selection, and what trade-offs might there be between successful mating and successful survival (give two specific examples of this trade-off).
#7) Why are organisms not perfect even though natural selection has had up to millions of years to “perfect” them? List and explain in detail 4 reasons.
