Chose a scene from any Film, Documentary or TV Show that inspires you and represents the core principles we have been discussing in class. This scene should have some substance and be longer than 1:30 minutes (2:30 minutes with a partner). You will show the scene from YouTube or another streaming service and then analyze the scene.
1. Composition
o How is the imagery arranged? Camera angles, movement, etc.
o Low angles, High angles, Frames, Color, Balance, etc.
2. Influence
o Can you find any influence from older Films/Directing styles?
3. Sound
o Are we hearing Diegetic (Sounds that make sense in the scene) or Non-Diegetic (Sounds Effects, Voice Over or Music)
4. Mise-En-Scène
o Everything in the frame that has a purpose; (Props, Costume, Lighting, Setting, Makeup, etc.)
