As you know by now, a rhetorical analysis is not limited to a written text. This week we’ll look at a the Lincoln Memorial and attempt to deconstruct what it’s doing as a visual text. Look at the following images thoroughly and then answer the questions in Part 2 below.

- Looking ahead at this week’s lecture on assumptions, what inherent assumptions are implied by this monument? For example, what’s implied by the fact that the architect featured Greco-Roman architecture? What’s implied by way Lincoln is seated and what he is seated on, specifically?
