Child
VN (initial) is a 13 year old child who is was admitted to the psych unit on Monday June 27th. Client stated that she was admitted because she run away twice and she also cuts herself on multiple occasion on her tight. It is client first time to ever been admitted. She came to the psych unit with the police. She is from Haiti. She moved to the USA at the age of 8 years old to live with her father and step mother and 2 siblings. She stated that her dad had been abusing her. Beating her on multiple occasion with wire , and that she doesn’t know why she beats her . Client stated she run away because of the abuse and cut herself because she stress. Client is in high school, grade level 10. She stated that she loves school, she feels safer there compared to her home. She stated that she is a A student, and she loves to draw and love fashion. Client appeared to be sad, anxious, depressed and a little suicidal. She stated that when she cuts herself it doesn’t hurt , instead it help her cope with stress.
She is not on any medication. She stated that she have trouble sleeping at night. She-said she spoke to her doctors and she will prescribe her something to sleep soon.
