08 Aug Change is a process and not an event
Change is a process and not an event (Dzwigol et al.,2019). It is therefore essential to ensure that the process of change is sustained and that there is adequate momentum built around the change to enable its implementation last as long as required until it becomes part of the culture of the organization. However, in reality, there are several barriers that can impact the successful implementation of any change process. For the change process, one such barrier is lack of goodwill from the nurses to implement the evidence-based practice. This is a serious barrier and can be prevented as Cleary et al. (2019) asserts through ensuring that the nurses were part of the change process from the onset and therefore own the changes.
