08 Aug Create a graphic organizer including any five disability categories under IDEA of your choice
Understanding the disability categories that may appear in the inclusive classroom and how they may adversely affect a student’s academic, social, and communication skills is crucial for planning instruction that will meet the needs of all students in your classroom.
Create a graphic organizer including any five disability categories under IDEA of your choice; however, you must include the category of gifted/talented as one of the five.
Include the following in your graphic organizer:
A description of each category.
A description of the specific ways that each category affects a student’s academic, social, and communication skills.
- Select one category and describe three differentiated instructional strategies that can be used to support a student to develop academic, social, and communication skills in the inclusive classroom (K-8 elementary or K-12 special education).
- One instructional strategy must include technology and one must be a specific UDL (Universal Design for Learning) strategy.
- Support your graphic organizer with a minimum of three scholarly resources.
