Assignment Description: Write a research-based essay between the firm limits of 3000-3700 words (roughly ten full pages not counting Annotated References) that incorporates information from at least four scholarly, peer-reviewed sources. The purpose is to dive deep into a single topic, rather than shallowly covering a wide spread of ideas. Make sure that your choice will have enough focus and interest to form the foundation for your project without becoming generalized or a simple re-statement of obvious facts.Source information (quotations, paraphrases, and summaries) should be integrated smoothly into your writing and documented correctly, according to APA format.
The paper should be formatted similar to these steps (each step should be roughly 1000 words):
– Establish the topic, give the fundamental information. WHAT is the idea/problem/situation?
– Analyze the topic. (The ‘So What…?’ Part) WHY is it the way it is? HOW can we understand it? WHAT lens should we look through?
– Expand the topic via further specific examples, comparisons, applications, etc. WHEN/WHERE else has this happened? (Think of test cases that support your analysis.)
– Add the Intro, Conclusion, Transitions, Images, Graphs, and other interstitial pieces that combine the previous sections into a cohesive whole. One paper geared toward a single focused goal.
