Good Morning,

Critical path method is typically used to define the most straight forward path to completing a project by defining all the necessary tasks that need to be completed for the project to be considered done. Once this is done it then shapes a path by taking said activities and structuring them in a way where it shows the dependencies to and from each task. This creates the opportunity to define any possible tasks that can be worked on intandem with one another. Through the use of this parallell task running this tool can aid in recovering any lost time or help recover from schedule overuns. Regardless if the tasks are on the critical path or not, if the critical path method can define dependent tasks that can be worked on simultaneously then time can be saved and allocated to non critical project tasks.

Best Regards,
