get started implementing your final multimedia Web site project and learn how to produce at least one video element using HTML5 protocol and/or embed a YouTube video that you produce on your Web site.
As we have been doing all semester, we are “staging” media/project development, so that you are not expected to learn and do everything at once in one final project. In terms of grading, this gives you more opportunities to be successful and more chances to improve, plus it gives you the opportunity to focus on what you are expected to learn and do in any one two-week period.
If you think about it, your landing page is the one project that gives you the most opportunity for points. Since it will also be a key component of your final multimedia project, you will be graded on it twice. This is intentional. We want to give you every opportunity to improve and produce the most professional multimedia Web site possible.
YOUR TASK:
Create the landing page (home page, opening page) for your multimedia Web site. The landing page should minimally contain:
- The basic design setup and color scheme of your multimedia Web site.
- At least one 60-150 second video that you have produced and is delivered via HTML5 or embedded from YouTube
- At least one image (usually best to have several) properly edited/managed for the Web.
- Navigation (links) to all pages on your final media site. The “interior” pages themselves and the media they contain don’t have to be developed. The links can go to pages “under construction.”
- Slideshows and animations are optional
