The Final Paper is a summary of what you have learned during the semester. Although this semester
was not typical I want you recall from experiences you had in the classroom. The paper should be 2-
3 pages typed. Points will be deducted for grammatical and spelling errors. You MUST use size 12
font. Please make sure to read your paper once you are done. You MUST write each heading at the
beginning of EVERY paragraph AND the paragraphs MUST be written in the order below. Missing
headings (Introduction, indoor classroom environment, outdoor classroom environment, curriculum,
teacher’s role, appropriate positive discipline, summarize) and/or paragraphs out of order will earn a
“0” on the final. You will submit this assignment on Canvas. It is due by 12/18/21 @11:59pm. I cannot
accept this assignment late.
i. Introduction
a. Describe your background and experiences with children, individually or in groups.
Describe why you are interested in working with young children. Explain what you
expected to learn when you first started this semester at the Child Development
Center.
ii. Indoor Classroom Environment
a. Describe what you learned about appropriate materials and equipment for a
preschool classroom, indoors.
iii. Outdoors Classroom Environment
a. Describe what you learned about appropriate materials and equipment for a
preschool classroom, outdoors.
iv. Curriculum
a. Describe what you learned about the children’s developmental abilities and how
children learn. Describe activities in the classroom that support the development of
creativity, positive self-esteem, ability to interact with other children, and develop
small and large motor skills.
v. Teacher’s Role
a. Explain what you have learned about all of the different responsibilities of a preschool
teacher. Include descriptions of the teacher’s role in interacting with the children,
planning the curriculum, the classroom environment, interaction with parents and
team work.
vi. Appropriate Positive Discipline
a. Describe appropriate positive discipline techniques that show respect for the child
and help him/her learn appropriate behaviors. Give specific classroom examples.
